Makes my Monday: Reflection & Revelation
After much soul searching, I'm joining the many.... the many who take a moment and step back to examine their lives and said, wow, I spend entirely too much time on the computer.
I haven't posted for three whole weeks, and in that time I have tried to remove myself from blogging almost completely- no reading or writing. Honestly, it's been very freeing. I've been doing soo much art journaling, more real reading, and I know that as the school year begins, I need to be focused.
I also have really been thinking about this whole concept of paper and whether or not it's real if it isn't written down to be found someday by our grandchildren. I adore the idea of my journals being read by my ancestors.... I just don't know if the blournal will do it for me anymore.
Now, I can't quit completely, I'm going to continue to post little smidgens of thought and sound on the "inspiration board" which you can follow in any of your readers, but as far as regular diatribes on life and learning, I'm going to be putting it to paper.....

I'm so hear you!
I just took 2 weeks off and it was wonderful. Put a lot in perspective for me.
Enjoy your new found freedom!
I am not their yet to need a break, love my computer time. Good for you!
not trying to convince you otherwise, but i will miss you! :) enjoy the break from the screen!!
I understand entirely. :) Since I'm unlikely to be able to unearth your writing as a descendant, I'm going to keep checking in for morsels of wisdom, insight and inspiration. :)
(and will count on some real life too!)
WOW! I understand what you are saying... completely. i love writing my blog, but boy, it would be liberating to not feel like I HAVE to do it.
Good luck to you!
So glad you enjoyed your 3 weeks off... but you sure were missed!
I know I have struggled with finding a balance between my own life and the blog world. You start to lose who you are and who you feel you should be after reading so many blogs. But I have to say, I liked reading your posts, so you will be missed, but I think moving away from the computer and living your life is quite brave and inspiring. :) Good luck, I wish you the best!
Wow, what an irony! We're all online posting the same thing - sounds like it's time to get creating! :) Happy Art, Emily and everyone!
I have to say that I'm glad that I got to see your online creations while you were into it! You are an inspiration, Emily, thank you. Have a great new year :)
I'm only now seeing this because I myself have been taking time off for art journaling and being present in a 3-D kind of way. Good luck with is all! (Did I already mention the book/online Creative Awakenings by Sherri Gaynor? If I haven't and you haven't already seen it, you might be interested.) Peace!
